the beach just across the road from hostel...Mission Beach - Gateway to the Barrier Reef
In Queensland we stayed at the resort of Mission Beach where we spent 2 nights. Here there are some excellent beaches, including South Mission Beach.
"Great Barrier Reef,"
Of course the real treasure of this part of the world is the Great Barrier Reef, which is at its nearest point to the coast around Mission Beach, some 25kms away. We took a cruise there with Quick Cat Cruises also visiting tropical Dunk Island en route.
"Snorkelling"
Naturally there is some great snorkelling here on the reef. Equipment can be loaned from your cruise boat.
