Take a Trip to the Hinterlands
by Kilfane
Situated inland 20 - 30 minutes is the mountain national park of Mount Tambourine. Home to boutique wineries and teahouses. Devonshire tea for the afternoon is a must where you sit down and take in the comfort and serenity that will bring time to almost a standstill. The people are definitely very generous with their tea and scones. So slow down enjoy and sip a cup of tea. Enjoy the beauties of life itself and watch a glorious sunset on top Australia's First National Park.
Surfers Paradise

"Surfers Paradise"
Just returned from a week on the Gold Coast, spent 7 nights at the Legends Hotel.
Great location, right in the heart of Surfers, small room though, we had 4 of us in one room and it was very cost to say the least.
Nice hotel, had the smallest balcony I have ever seen, but enough room for 2 to sit and and enjoy a beverage watching the Ocean.
The cleaning of the hotel was shocking, we had 4 people in our room as I said, only on one occasion did we receive 4 towels, we had to ring every day to get 2 more sent up, the floor wasnt cleaned properly, with 2 kids they leave crumbs etc everywhere, they werent cleaned up at all. Outside the elevator as you got off on our floor, someone had dropped a pringle chip, after day 2 someone had stepped on it, probably one of my children and there it stayed, it was only on day 6 that it was cleaned up, not real good for a 4.5 star hotel.
Apart from that, it was fine.
Down on the ground floor was Fables Restaurant, Seafood Buffet, it won the Buffet award for Queensland in 2006, it was very nice. Found a Dining Out guide which had a 20% off coupon.
Had a fantastic time, travelling with kids is always good at Surfers, so much to do.
Enjoy.
