QUEEN'S PARK CARNIVAL OF FLOWERS
by balhannah
In September, for the Carnival of Flowers, Queen's Park is planted with thousands of different annuals.
The display beds are done in attractive patterns and look absolutely stunning!
In the centre, where the Memorial is, there is a makeshift stand that you can go up, this gives you a good overview of the gardens, and you will get some good photos from here.
During the Carnival, there is also a little Drink & Food stand in the park, where you can get a refreshment.
In 2009, it was 60years that the Carnival had been running for.
FREE!
A MUST VISIT!
Queen's Park - 2009 Carnival of Flowers
by balhannah
"CARNIVAL OF FLOWERS 2009"
2009 WAS NOT A GOOD YEAR FOR QUEEN'S PARK
The night before the Carnival opened, vandals got into the park, pulled out and trampled lots of plants.
ALSO, Toowoomba is in a crippling drought, they have nearly run out of water for the people to drink.................
AND, TO TOP IT OFF...................
We have had 2 unusual strong, gusty dust storms pass through, and these stripped lots of the flowers.
SO................
It wasn't it usual high standard, everything seemed to be against the Gardens this year.............always next year!!!
They were still VERY NICE!
