Jolly Swagman caravan park: Convenient Campground
This Caravan Park is the nearest one to the City Centre, and is located opposite parkground, and a short walk away from the tourist information centre.
We stayed here in our own Caravan. It is a very well kept park, so much, they won 1st prize for their section in the Carnival of Flowers.
The amenities looked to be fairly new, nice and clean, and plenty of room in the shower. Big Laundry, with washers, dryers, and irons.
Each site had mains water and sullage hook-ups, and there was a "dump point" for portable toilets.
They do have cabins, and permanents living here. I didn't see much room for tents, only a couple of spots.
My only complaint was the traffice noise [semi-trailers] on the next road [Warrego Highway], exremely noisy, and hard to sleep if you are a light sleeper like me. On the weekend, the road is quieter, as the Semi's are mainly on the move on the week-day.
I had a look in their well maintained garden, and guess what I found??? See photo!
Price in 2010 for a powered site for 2 people was $25.
