St. Luke's Church enters in the Carnival of Flower's each year.
For a gold coin donation, we were able to go inside the Church, and view the beautiful floral arrangements. They were stunning!
Outside, and there were potted plants for sale, and a food stall where a bbq was operating. Only $2 for a Sausage, onion & roll, can't beat that for price, and a Marquee to sit under and eat, especially good as the day was wet!
Excellent floral display!
Life is relaxed here. It is 130 odd km's out of Brisbane, heading west. People sometimes come here for a relaxed university life.
Sunday can be exceptionally sleepy. Maybe spend that time doing your photoshoots in front of historic buildings, as that's when there is next to no one around, particularly at 10am.
It is a good sized town and has all the mod cons, ATMs, places to eat, drink, look at, internet (!!), pools, parks, Myer (department store) etc. Not very far from wildlife and national park areas. It is on the range, so plenty of windy mountain roads, and as it is inland and cold, a prime spot for wineries.
If you love nature, walks, country, pastoral... this is the spot. It butts against the Great Dividing Range. Driving on mountain roads, experiencing ear popping, change to temperature... All marvelous. There's trees and plains galore. Plenty of scenic opportunity, a real getaway, especially for city folk like me.
The country air abounds. There is no smog in Toowoomba. Make sure to stop at a lookout so you can see the lovely township nestled in the valley.
Make sure you stop in this romantic and tranquil location. Sitting on the edge of university grounds, here is a paradise of gazebos, ponds, bridges and ducks. Quack quack. I can't imagine how many wedding photo shoots must go on here.
I have a great two hours, winding down after much driving. I loved rambling over all the little pathways here. Lots of great hiding spots. Great if you want to have some time out alone too.
