Located in the Darling Downs 2 hours west of Toowoomba, Warwick is a major rural community in the Southern Downs centred on the farming industry.
Ironically, Warwick is closer to the Gold Coast than Brisbane, and it's not surprising to hear of locals going on daytrips down to the coast on most weekends. The resort town of Stanthorpe is about an hours south of Warwick and I'd highly recommend pretty Stanthorpe with its vineyards and gourmet attractions as an off the beaten track trip from Warwick.
Warwick's claim to fame are its Rodeo and Rose festivals in October.
