A nice stay

Adelaide Backpacker's Inn is located very close to the city centre, only a short walk from Victoria Square. It is a pretty building from the middle of the 19th century and for a hostel has really large rooms. I stayed in two different rooms on two different stays, and while one was great and had lots of space, the other once was just cramped with bunks and much too full. This was the thing I disliked most, staying in that room really was not pleasant.

The hostel has several bathrooms, so you will always find one that is free. There is a big kitchen and a big common room with DVD player. What I liked most was the backyard: There is a large table and it is nice to sit there in the sun among green plants and chat to other travellers.
There are also free internet pcs, the only problem was that most of them were not working when I was there - I hope the problems are solved by now ;-)

The hostel is remarkaby clean and another plus is that luggage storage is not a problem. I went on two different multi-day trips while I stayed there, so my luggage needed to be stored twice, and it always went very smoothly. And then they even allowed me to store two bags here while I was travelling to Western Australia for a whole month!!! I think that this was very kind of them.

The hostel is managed by the same family as is Hostel 109, so if you want to speak to them you need to cross the road. Everything is done by the Hostel 109 reception. I did not find this a problem, though, and the manager is one of the friendliest I met during all of my travels! He really tries to make your stay as happy is possible.

Unique Quality: * very friendly manager
* very clean
* nice garden area
* close to city centre

Free Apple Pie

This is a lovely place to stay! It used to be a pub, but it's a hostel now. There's a very good and cheap travel agent there too.The Inn is run by Peter Fischer and his family. It is conveniently located less than ten minutes walk from the city centre and only a few minutes away from the Central Markets and Shopping Centre where you are able to buy all the requirements you would need.

Unique Quality: The owners are prepared to pick you up and drop you off from the bus and train stations when you stay at the Adelaide Backpackers Inn. There is a huge kitchen, with free tea and coffee, a relaxing room with TV and free video hire, off-street parking and an under cover private courtyard.
The best thing is the free ice cream and apple pie you get every night!

simple and cheap

This is quite a small hostel located in the city area at Carrington street. This place is good for backpakers who really are on budget. This place is near the city centre as well.
