Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 21, 2008

ADELAIDE
I found Backpack OZ to be all you want in budget accomodation .
When I arrived on The Indian Pacific Train I was picked up at the railway station..my room was exceptionally clean....the kitchen big and clean..Big free B/fast each morning..and every wednesday night a free BBQ with just so much to eat , along with a desert...The staff were extremely helpful with local travel advice regarding points of interest , very helpful at all times..any information needed no trouble. When I was leaving I was taken back to the railway station. This I thought a really helpful gesture...This is a good place to stay while in Adelaide. I would stay here again if/when visitin Adelaide again. Gets very busy pays to book ahead..

Unique Quality: All ammenities I found were really clean..big clean kitchen..plenty of refrigeration and room for food.abundance of kitchen items...good breakfasts with abundance of food..not far to walk from town centre., close to local markets and china town...for a backpackers this was extremely clean and the staff were very helpful..unlike some this was not noisey..

Accommodatoin in Adelaide

by written on April 16, 2008

Well, as I live in Adelaid eI don't really know about a lot the hotels as I tend to sleep in my own bed. Anyway, I wanted to give you guys some info on whats available and I found a site that lists a whloe load of hotels. motels and appartments including addresses, cost and a description. The site also has information on accommodation in other major Australian states. Hope it's of some help.

Also, if you are looking for some great last minute accommodation check out www.wotif.com

Cheap and fun!

A great atmosphere, good location, good room rates, free pool table, free breakfast, free weekly barbecue. All in all a very good hostel in the centre of Adelaide. Check out the website for more info.

Directions: Corner of Wakefield Street and Pulteney Street

One of the best so far!

Incredibly friendly and helpful and very clean. This is one of the best hostels I've stayed in. It's $ 20 a night for a dorm bed (ask for a small dorm when booking). It's usually full, so book in advance. Every Wednesday there is a free dinner, mine consisted of a very big BBQ with salad, potatoes and the works and cake and ice cream for desert. Wow!
