Convenient Backpackers
This is a clean, convenient, cheap backpackers hostel. It's right across the street from the bus station, so you dont' have to haul your bags too far! PLUS -- you get apple pie and ice cream! Can you ask for anything more?? People are really friendly there - but that's not unusual for a hostel. They also have 2 kitchens - no tripping over people when you're cooking, unlike a lot of other hostels/backpackers places I've stayed in.

Cannon Street Backpackers
Cannon Street Backpackers is a good hostel, right where the buses drop you off. Dorms are around $20, and that includes breakfast(toast) and free apple pie in the evenings. They have fantastic bar downstairs, great for meeting people.
