Shop in Handorf

by pretoriushantie

I am looking for the name of the shop in Handorf that sells the little music instruments that you wind up and it plays.

If someone can help me it would be appreciated. Contact details will be nice also.

Is the town called Hahndorf in the Adelaide hills? Is the musical thing a music box? and what does it look like? If you give more description someone may be able to help. There are many souvenir shops in Hahndorf, do you remember where exactly the shop was?

Travel Tips for Adelaide

The Size of Adelaide

by Diceman_

Adelaide has a couple of unique features (as far as I'm aware); the airport is fairly close to the city centre and the main interstate highway from the south-east doesn't encounter the main settled areas also until a fairly short distance from the city (Glen Osmond). Someone visiting Adelaide who doesn't go outside of the city or Glenelg may carry away the mistaken impression that Adelaide is like a medium size town which happens to have a lot of tall buildings, and that Glenelg is a satellite town.
This is not the case, a person travelling from the north has to drive through suburbs for almost half an hour until they get to the city, even more for people travelling from the south along the Fleurieu Peninsula. Adelaide is quite large in terms of surface area, the suburbs may not stretch very far east or west but they do north and south.

Port Adelaide

by CandS

In Port Adelaide we came across a big Canadian ship that was on show...it was interesting to look through it...I had never been on such a big boat!
The boat was the HMCS Winnipeg FFH-338...a Canadian Patrol Frigate.

The most beautiful Cricket ground in the world?

by Charlie_UK

Adelaide Oval is possibly the most beautiful ground to stage international cricket, a neat and elegant ground with trees at the northern end and the cathedral beyond, the Adelaide Hills in the distance and a setting in parkland near the Torrens river. The ground is well organised with excellent viewing and good facilities. The scoreboard dates from 1911 and is the oldest in use in international cricket. Win or lose, any visit here is memorable. Don't forget the sun cream and hat!

Port Augusta: If you are...

by Ilena

Port Augusta: If you are traveling by road in South Australia, you will most likely go through Port Augusta. You will find it useful as a stopover but if you really want to see the bush, stay at accommodation out in the Flinders Ranges. The Arid Lands Botanic Gardens are a great place to visit if you are interested in Australian native flora. The Wadlata Outback Centre, in the centre of town, is also worth a look. Conveniently, the main supermarket is open until midnight. Port Augusta can be a bit rough, so stay off the streets at night. If you see trouble brewing up ahead, it might be best to find an alternate path.

Live Music: Grace Emily

by Helium_Teapot about Grace Emily Hotel

The Grace Emily: Generally of the quieter indie/ lowfi/ alt country/ alt.pop.rock variety. Normally no cover charge and Coopers beer on tap. Local, interstate and overseas bands play here every night of the week, and is always crowded, friendly and open late.. Dedicated to live music, also has a nice front bar. casual
