Glenelg
Visit Glenelg, it is very beautiful there! The beautiful sunset over the Glenelg beach was my best memory. The sky was so pink that the water looked a beautiful tinge of pink. :) (Pity the photo doesn't show it so well though...)

Hi Everyone
I am arriving in Adelaide soon and wish to travel to Kalgoorlie. Can you tell me the best and cheapest way to get there?
Thanks
Flatcap
It's over 2000k's from Adelaide to Kalgoorlie. The train takes one day, 5 hours and leaves Adelaide twice a week.
There are also buses, more frequent from Perth, but try Greyhound for info. Flights are also more common from Perth than Adelaide.
For info go to:

Depends what you mean by 'best'.
The quickest and easiest would be to fly to Perth and then to Kal.
I don't think there is a 'cheap' way
I'd go by train, so you can see the landscape as well and it's relatively fast and also comfortable as you can walk around.

It is not customary to tip in Australia.
If you do want to tip no offence will be taken but some businesses may not allow there staff to accept so please don't be offended if it refused.
Instead of tipping some people will get a bill for around $17 and will give a $20 note and say keep the change.
The Adelaide Hills are unlike any other countryside in that it is so close to the city. So apart from the typical tourist spots like Hahndorf etc., if you have rentred a car, just take it for a spin around the countryside. You'd be suprised by what you will find. Small Cafes, Apple Pie Shop, Cherry gardens which are open for sale of fruits, B&Bs which are open for public viewing etc etc
HMS Buffalo is a replica of the original HMS Buffalo which sailed from Portsmouth to Holdfast Bay (off Glenelg) in 1836. The replica was built on-site between 1980 and 1982 at a cost of $1.5million using the original admiralty plans.
The museum houses illustrations and extracts from the old log books, original diary notes, sketches and photos that tell the story of the original HMS Buffalo's voyage 6. Part of the replica also houses a restaurant.
This place is pretty swanky - very sleek decor and even sleeker staff (check their website, it has a VR movie on it). It can be a bit hit and miss (not helped by that stupid tv in the corner - it's not cool guys, turn it off!!) but you're pretty much always guaranteed to see some very good looking people, and if you don't - you can always stare at their awesome tropical fish tank. No space for dancing: the music is not really hard anough anyway. They say they're a cigar bar but I've yet to see anyone smoking one in there... Pretty strict - If you wear sneakers, make sure they're designer or at least clean, or you probably wont get in. Men definitely have more problems getting in than women... On the whole, dress to impress (but fellas, suits aren't necessary).
