Amble at Hahndorf: Hahndorf's Home Away from Home
Amble at Hahndorf is a delightful B&B, a 1 minute walk from the Main Street. A cheese shop on the corner is an excellent place to have a coffee and freshly made cakes.
Amble at Hahndorf is quiet, peaceful and elegant. The newly refurbished rooms are beautiful - no expense has been spared. There is a strong sense of privacy to each of the 3 accommodation areas. We didn't see or hear any of the other guests. We stayed in 'Amble Over' which is a large open space apartment that included a kitchenette, dining area, lounge, 2 small balconies, luxurious Queen bed and a large bathroom complete with spa bath.
The gardens are lovely and at the back of the house, visible from the balcony are views across a paddock, complete with a couple of horses. In the morning and evening the local birdlife come in to feed - lorikeets, galahs, corellas and sulphur-crested cockatoos.
The plentiful breakfast food is top quality local produce and there were also delicious treats to sample. We traveled around the area visiting wineries. Some have restaurants attached. It's a picturesque area of Adelaide.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and felt very pampered. The apartment was $180 per night. We look forward to going back again for a weekend escape.
Views across the paddock and garden.
Quality of decor, linen, food and toiletries.
