We stayed at Periwinkles for a weekend in early April 2006. The house is not 5 star accommodation, but very practical and cozy for a group of 6-12 people to catch up for some fishing and BBQs. I highly recommend you stay here.
They charge a flat rate no matter how many people stay. We paid $330 total for 2 nights, so with 10 people staying it was quite affordable.
The rates are very good considering what is included. There are two levels set up as separate units, but they only hire out the whole place together.
Big living room (TV, VCR, DVD, CD, movies for kids and adults), dining room with wood stove, full kitchen, one full bathroom/toilet and four bedrooms (1 queen, 1 bunk room, 2 bunk rooms with trundles). Incredible views of the ocean and hills from the living room and big balcony with table and chairs for outdoor dining.
Big living room (TV, VCR, DVD, CD), dining area, small kitchen and 2 bedrooms (1 queen and 1 single). There is a full bathroom/toilet accessible just outside the door of the downstair unit.
There is enough room in the driveway for about 4 cars. The shed has table tennis and an old radio for music, along with a gas BBQ which we used 10 times. Someday soon they will have a cubby house in the backyard for kids to play in.
Food and Cleaning up
This place is self catering, so bring all of your own food and drinks. The upstairs kitchen has a HUGE fridge and there is a medium sized fridge downstairs so dont worry about running out of fridge space. You are expected to clean the place up before leaving, including taking your rubbish to the bin outside and emptying ashtrays etc. (No smoking inside by the way.) If you leave the place tidy and clean, they will return your bond within a couple weeks of staying there.
