When in the Barossa....taste wine!!!
We visited Langmeil Winery in Tanunda, at the request of Tina/perth! What a good choice that turned out to be!
When there try their 2005 Three Gardens Shiraz Blend. Its a wonderful red..and not expensive at about $20.00 a bottle..
If you order through their website, then you get another discount .
Langmeil Winery can be found at the corner of Para and Langmeil Rd Tanunda, in the heart of our wonderful Barossa Valley.
A beautiful picnic area!
Why not take the picnic basket to Seppeltsfield, buy a bottle of your favourite wine at the cellar doors, and have a day in the glorious picnice area...Its a great area for the kids to run around and the adults to have a catch up! There are beautiful gardens, vineyards and many birds and animals to see.
Menglers Hill Lookout
Drive up to Menglers Hill Lookout for a great view of Tanunda and other towns across the Barossa Valley. Great place to view the stars or watch for rainbows on a rainy day. Romantic spot for couples too.
"Vineyards and Wine Tasting"
Tanunda is about a 1.5 hour drive north of Adelaide and well worth a visit, even if you are not a big wine drinker. The beautiful scenery throughout the Barossa Valley is not to be missed. There are several quaint shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels in town. See my tips below for more information or send me an email with specific questions.
The heart of the Barossa Valley!!!!!
"If you like good wine......."
The Barossa Valley is one of the best wine producing areas in Australia and it is only 1 hour away from Adelaide.
Whether it is a romantic weekender you are after, or just a day trip, there is so much to see and do.
You dont need to be a wine drinker to visit, and just the scenery and the quaint towns are a must to see!!!
There are so many wineries to choose from. There are the big wineries that would be known world wide, such as Penfolds and Jacobs Creek..to the little family owned wineries. They all welcome visitors, and its a great way to taste and experience some of our fantastic wines.
There are some large townships that you can visit, but Tanunda in my opinion is the best..It has so much to offer the visitor, from some great old pubs to some scrumptious little cafes!!
"Hundreds of Palms!"
If you want the easy directions to Seppeltsfield, then just follow the Palms. As soon as you turn off the main highway, they lead you all the way..and it must be at least four Kms. Its a real feature of this area, and is worth a visit! For more info on the area, check out my new tips on Seppeltsfield
