Hobart's Fishing Community
by ATXtraveler
Because of its location on the Derwent River and with easy access to the Southern Ocean, you can see why Hobart developed a large fishing community. From personal watercraft loaded with trout gear, to yacht charters for deep sea fishing, to commercial lobster boats, the harbor downtown is a great place to see the fishing lifestyle.
You can definitely benefit from the hard work of these hard working fishers... just go down to one of the great restaurants and order yourself a plate of fish, served anyway you like!

Salamanca Place
by Kate-Me
The buildings here were originally Georgian warehouses, built between 1835 - 50. There is much colonial architecture remaining still intact in the older areas of Hobart.
Now the buildings in Salamanca Place are home to bars, cafes and Australian and international restaurants, and quality arts/crafts centres, souvenir shops and more. It's quite a unique place to visit.
On Saturdays Salamanca is home to Tasmania's largest outdoor market - a mixture of crafts, local wares and other unique goods. Don't miss this one!

I could not believe when i see the price tag.
The table and bench is not affordable by my standards.
I could only take a pic of it to bring back home with me.
Excellent workmanship.
