Park No.1: The lovely gardens of City Park
by xuessium
This park occupies a space in the heart of every habitant of Launceston I am sure. Not only it is big, it is very beautiful and thus is popular with both locals and visitors.
Giant trees offered welcoming shades for lovely picnic spots. Pixies of water from fountains danced among the splashes of colours from the floral blooms. Folks who love gardens will like City Park.
You will also find John Hart Conservatory within the park, filled with blooms of a more exotic nature.
A great place to take a breather, enjoy nature, watch the world go by or play a game of chess with large wooden pieces. (I won by the way)
The park is open all year round. Entry is free.

"Launceston"
Launceston is located on the Tamar River where the North and South Esk Rivers converge.
It is Tasmania's second largest population centre, and is an attractive city due to its many parks and gardens, which incorporate European trees such as oaks and elms.
Cataract Gorge Reserve is arguably the best recreational area in the northern city of Launceston, located only 1.6 km (1 mi) from the city centre.
The chairlift crossing the Gorge is the longest single span one in the world at 308m (924 ft) - a winter view from chairlift is pictured below.
