National Penny Farthing Championship

3rd weekend in February
The Evandale Village Fair is held annually and features a full program of Penny Farthing racing including the National Penny Farthing Championship. The streets of the village come alive with stalls and street entertainers, creating the ambience of a colonial country fair.
The one day event, is held each February. The emphasis is on participation and enjoyment. The picturesque village of Evandale near Launceston in Tasmania has hosted this event for the past 20 years.

Although Launceston is a very small town, it has lots of churches.
During our evening walk, we came across this beautiful church located in dowtown Launceston.
The church building is magnificant and tt has a beautiful bricks wall in red. The lovey lavendar garden add a sweet aroma to this place of worship.

Situated in the Tamar Valley, its only a short 45 minute flight from Melbourne.
A big attraction here, is Cataract Gorge. Its a short walk from the city centre. Theres a large suspension bridge over the gorge, and a single span chairlift. A swimming pool, or for more adventure, abseiling and white water rafting, we just enjoyed the pleasant walk.

Trips up the Tamar Valley following the Tamar river are full of beautiful scenery, this is one of our favorite spots in Tasmania.
