Grand Views of Port Arthur
After a day of touring the historic prison system. This hotel is very close and a good value for your money. The room was clean and warm. The electic blankets and heater worked well. Even the provided tea, coffee, and biscuits warmed us up.
The bathroom was intersesting ( the shower bottom was shaped different) and no bathtub for my wife to relax in.
Only negative was that the tv was plugged into a bad plug, had to change that. and it only had 4 stations. But you should be looking at the prison site and surrounding landscapes and not watching tv.
Unique Quality: This motel has a great view of the historic Port Arthur Prison ruins. We the motel while touring the site

Excellent Location to Visit Port Arthur!
Since visiting the Port Arthur Historic Site can take a whole day, we were pleased to find this hotel just behind it! It is part of the Choice Hotels program and my mom was nice enough to let us use her points (only 8000 for this location), so we had a free stay! (I checked and the room is listed on their website at AU$123/night.) They have rooms with a double & single bed, so that was perfect for my brother & his wife and then me in the single!
You can tell the hotel is older, but the room was clean and the heater worked great, in addition to the nice electric blankets! There are also things provided for tea (including biscuits).
There was an interesting open shower and no bath tub, but I managed. :)
There is a restaurant on site open late, which is good because there aren't a lot of restaurants around, but we chose to drive a few kilometres to a restaurant we had seen earlier, so can't tell you how the restaurant is!
