Butlers of Bendigo: Excellent B&B

Bill & I decided to stay at the B&B in Bendigo...and it was an excellent choice. Barry and Gayle were the greatest hosts from the minute stepped in their home to the time we left. They hung an American flag for us...which was a great first impression. Then...we received fresh coffee and a bottle of champagne upon arrival. Our room was comfortable...and the breakfast was impressive.

The restaurants aren't the best in the little town...but Bendigo is only 5 minutes away.

We were surprised at the cost...but the price doesn't reflect the quality...it's the best deal in the area!

The Shamrock Hotel

The Shamrock Hotel is famous to Bendigo and was opened in 1854 at the height of the gold mining boom in Bendigo. Later on a concert hall and theatre were added. Top artists used to play at the concert hall. In 1858 during a renovation of the hotel a fire gutted the hotel but a new hotel was built in 1860 along with an 800 seat concert hall. Yet again in 1896 a new Shamrock Hotel was built and is the existing hotel there now. The hotel has been fully refurbished in a style of its early days, and offers first class accommodation, a bistro, bar and Diamond Lils Tabaret Pokies.

You can eve get a tour of the hotel for around $5.00.
