A little tip for the visitor coming to Daylesford......
PLEASE don't back out of the centre park area. It's a no no!!:)
We don't care if you park in Bus Zones, Taxi ranks anywhere your heart desires but backing out of centre park isn't something we smile at!
Daylesford, Jubilee Lake & Caravan Park
by cassiejoy42
If you are lucky enough to know someone who has a permanent site at Lake Jubilee Caravan Park you should ask them to let you go and have a holiday there. It is the prettiest spot. There is a lake where the children can and usually do swim all day. The caravan park is small and very private - so you don't get hoons, fast cars or any other invasions on a beautiful, sunny, pleasant location.
You can pitch a tent or stay in an on site van. A lot of people come to Jubilee Lake Caravan Park and pitch a tent. We stayed here New Year's Eve. It was probably the most peaceful, quiet New Year's Eve I have celebrated.
The whole area is covered with trees, or water. We spent a lot of time walking along the walking paths or swimming, or watching the children swimming. We only went in to Daylesford itself for food supplies if we ran out of food.
Visit the Volcano

Mount Franklin is a lovely place to visit especially during the Autumn when the leaves are changing colour.
Here you can do some small walks, lay in the sun, have a BBQ or take a picnic.
You only have to drive for about 10 minutes from Daylesford on the Castlemaine Road and you will see the turn off to the Crater.
You can see Mount Franklin from the Main Street of Daylesford....Look North:)
Just after I arrived in this area I watched Mount Franklin burn as I stood in the main street.
We were surrounded by fire, it was a very scary time as I had never seen bush fires so close. So please be careful.....we don't want it to burn again:)
Daylesford Uniting Church

Ah Churches - gotta love the architecture!
Religious or not, Churches (well the older ones anyway) are such masterpieces of architecture, with stained glass windows, arched doorways, spires or steeples.
This Church - Daylesford Uniting Church - is up one of the side streets off the main street in Daylesford.
Convent Gallery
by Kate-Me
Convent Gallery is a major gallery of Victoria and very spectacular.
You really need to see it to understand why, from the interior to the spectacular views, to the art, the restored chapel, beautiful leadlight windows, 'alter bar' , the restaurant (see travelogue)
The building was once a convent and was restored over many years and added to.
