GEELONG BAY
Plenty of areas for a picnic or BBQ
visit Smorgy's at Cunningham Pier. Right beside the new Carousel and located beside the Waterfront Walk, overlooking Corio Bay. I love to walk on the beach and Geelong has lovely beaches. You can drive to any of our beaches, find accomodation, have a nice meal, and then walk off the meal on some our pretty beaches.
There are two main FM stations in Geelong: K-rock at 95.5, and Bay FM and 93.9.
K-rock plays a lot of new stuff, mainly top 20 chart and also a variety of music from the 80s and 90s - check their website for more info: www.krock.com.au
Bay FM plays a bit of new and old, the new stuff isn't always top 20 chart, but you'll know the artists, so you can go from listening to Britney Spears to the Righteous Brothers. Their website is at: www.bayfm.com.au
All the parks along the foreshore are lovely. Palm trees, as well as shade trees are everywhere. During the summertime, it can get a little crowded here, as there are many visitors from the surrounding regions, as well as Melbourne.
Too often people drive right through Geelong on their way to the famous surf beaches. With money being poured into redevelopment in Geelong (especially the waterfront) Geelong is fast becoming one of Australias most beautiful, modern exciting cities. Without forgetting the past Geelong is moving forward in leaps and bounds.
All major Australian banks have branches in Geelong. The majority are open Monday to Thursday 9:30 to 4:00 with Friday staying open until 5:00.
ATMs are plentiful and most stores have ETPOS facilities. All major credit cards are usually accepted, Bankcard, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Card.
