Currawong Cottage: Just like home
From the moment we walked in we felt at home. A cosy little 2 bedroom cottage, complete with balcony, bbq out the back, wood fire, (and reverse cycle air-con) and spa bath with cute little fenced in area.
We were able to hand feed the cockatoo which waited for us each morning. The main bedroom has a queen bed, and the 2nd bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds, and a porta cot is available for the littler ones. It is clean and quiet, and although an older house, effort has been made to modernise. The kitchen is fully equipped, and all linen and towels are supplied. Even has chest of drawers in each bedroom which appear quite new. The bedrooms decor is very nice. Flat screen tv with sattelite channels. You could walk to the main street from here easily, but we drove each time as we were on our way to somewhere else via the main street. All in all a great little place to stay.

Jinchilla Lodge: Wonderful Cottage On Outskirts of Halls Gap
There were 4 of us and we paid $320 (Australian) for two night’s accommodation, but we got our third night for free. The $320 included our linen and the cottage actually could sleep 6 people comfortably. The pay for two nights and get your third night free was an excellent advantage.
You would need a car if you are planning to stay at Jinchilla. It is actually located between Halls Gap and Pomonal and is removed from everything. It was perfect for us and we enjoyed waking up to find Kangaroos in the front yard, just outside our door.
The cottage has a small spa-fitted bath and laundry facilities. There was a tea pot, but no coffee bodum/plunger thing etc. The kitchen is otherwise well equipped.
The lounge has a wonderful fire and I found chopping wood was a good way to unwind!
There is also a BBQ on the verandah and a small outdoor fire place where we had a fire and toasted marshmallows and then made damper. It was great!
You are surrounded by farmland and kangaroos are all around you.
You are in walking distance of the Halls Gap Winery.
Views are amazing, but sunsets need to be seen from the otherside of the ranges... we felt.
