Stanmorr B & B: Luxury Bed & Breakfast

We arrived at the B & B late afternoon and enquired if a room was available for the night. We asked to have a look at the room and were immediately taken to the room and also shown the breakfast dining room. The bedroom was beautifully fitted out, plenty of room, TV etc. There were 4 rooms in this recently built section adjoining the main house and on the ground floor was a community lounge with kitchen where you could make your tea and coffee and biscuits were supplied. The Breakfast room was well furnished with plenty of room between the tables and you are able to order a hot or cold breakfast, plus cereal, home made fruit salad etc etc.
The B&B is located on a hill immediately overlooking Lorne and is surrounded by large gum trees with an abundance of birdlife, and you can walk down to the town centre which is 5 minutes away. We stayed mid week and were charged Au $100, discounted from normal rates applied during summer and school holidays. A most enjoyable stopover which I can recommend to all.

Unique Quality: Bushland setting surrounds the old but recently renovated home, plenty of parrots and cockeys to greet you in the morning followed by an excellent breakfast.

I have forgotten the name of this hostel: Great backpacker place

I have forgotten the name of this place, but it is not far from the YHA-hostel. If anyone know the name, please let me know.

We stayed here one night. It was a great place, that we found when the YHA-hostel was full.

We stayed in a female-only dormitory with 4 beds and we paied AUS $25 (year 1998).

The hostel has some great balconies, where you can relax and enjoy the views of Lorne.

The coast of the Great Ocean Road has a remarkable range of delightful accommodation in towns like Allansford, Apollo Bay, Lorne, Cape Otway, Cape Bridgewater, Geelong, Lorne, Ocean Grove, Port Fairy, Portland, Queenscliff, Torquay , Warrnambool and Port Campbell.
