Although Maldon has a lovely motel (our friends who have stayed there loved it), I can't imagine an overnight visit to Maldon without staying in one of the many quaint cottages available.
We've stayed in many : some through Heritage Cottages of Maldon and some privately operated.
The self contained cottages at Maldon usually have real character : open fires, or wood stoves, quaint furnishings, a quiet and private position, and some provide breakfast ingredients.
I haven't stayed in Maldon, I only live 30 minutes away!
There are a number of Bed and Breakfast places to stay. These are all old world, like the town.
You can ring the Maldon Information Centre and they have a list of places.
You won't have a pool, you will have open fire places for the winter days/nights.
Most will supply a cooked Breakfast.
In some areas you can only book two nights for a weekend, during the quiet season you will probably get one night of a weekend.
I have to put a Satisfaction rating....this is not the rating of the above Bed and Breakfast.
Prices will also vary, once again I will have to put in a price , this will be a rough guess.
