Superbikes
by l_joo
Superbikes are extremely common in Melbourne, I saw some big showrooms at a street downtown, a brand new bike 600cc or 800cc (Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc) priced at only A$10,000 to A$18,000, a person earn average, A$2000-A$3000 monthly, so why not buy a superbike. (For Malaysian) Comparing to Malaysia, average monthly earn RM2000-3000 but a superbike cost RM60,000-RM100,000, import tax plus AP, etc, superbikes are not common in Malaysia, only occassionally saw one or two.

this pic of the gallery tower at the melbourne art centre shows the large spiral on top which changes color at night to a light blue (see pic on krystynn page).I haven't been iside this building for years .so ask a melbournian with more culture than me what it's like. The art centre is only 3 mins walk from Flinders Street station and is right next to south bank complex.
Which in my opion is one of the nicest places to go in the city area .
south bank has so great restaurants and also probably the best irish bar in melbourne in terms of decore .
its called P.J O'briens and I have given some of my hard earned across the bar to them on lets just say more than one time.
November - Melbourne Cup
by keeweechic
November is Melbourne Cup. Every year the city and pretty much the country, comes to a halt for 3 mins while the Melbourne cup race is held.
March/April - the Melbourne International Comedy Festival is held at one of Melbourne?s comedy clubs.
March - The Australian Formula One Grand Prix is held around Albert Park. It is also the start of the Australian Rules Football Season, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
Also soccer is played in Down Under

Although Aussie rules and cricket are far more popular sports in Australia also European football is fighting for its positions in the sport crazy Australia. In top European series there are many Australian breed players. I`ve seen two matches in Australia and it is very easy to notice the roots of a home team. For example South Melbourne FCs roots are in Greek community. You hear more Greek than English in stands. All the same - I really enjoyed the match. So if you are a football fan take the opportunity to see "real" football also here in Australia.
Hanging Rock Cafe
by aussirose
Get's real cold in May in Melbourne. When we arrived at Hanging Rock you could play smokes with the air, it was so thick. (That's for those that don't smoke haha). A few of us got a bit cold (wasn't drinkin' like Tina-Perth haha). So we hit the cafe for a nice coffee and to warm up.
