Hi,
I'll arrive at Melbource on 20/11/09 at 8.20am and will take a domestic flight to Canberra on 4.40pm the same day..
Please advise is there any city tour for 4 - 5 hour while waiting to fly to Canberra??
Or any better subjection

Easy..grab the sky bus atthe airport . about $15, and get off at Southern Cross. You can store you luggage here. Then walk down to FLinders street, about 2 block, and get the free city circle tram, it is free and circles the city, pointing out attraction sand it is hop on hop off.

Fav scene in Melbourne is probably Brunswick Street, however this street closes early. If you're looking for an allnighter, check out Chaple Street. I miss the summer heat and the multiculturalism, not to mention the slurpies.
Another of my favourite views of Melbourne city.... the famous dome and distinctive colourings of Flinders Street Station, taken from the ultra modern, glass and arty Federation Square, and looking over other modern parts of the city as well.
This is an unavoidable visible object in Melbourne, I have to include in my tip section, no tourists able to not see this thing, impossible to avoid. Tourists once saw the plate know they are in the territory of Melbourne, it tells you you are now in where you should be, a place to be, the place to be.
When visiting Melbourne bring shorts, t-shirt, long pants, jumper and an umbrella cause anything can happen in a day. bring insect repellant in the summer months (December to March) because the mozzies and flies are shocking.
Sunscreen is a MUST as you can get burnt on a 15 degree day and feel it for the rest of the trip.
At the Yarra river side walk there are lots of nice warm sweet cafes , stylish restaurants , chic bars , unique shopping ( lots of brand name )along the river . The crown casino 's right at the corner of the river too .You will find it with spectacular views of the city ( esp. in the night ime ) The river precinct is melbourne's pulsating heart of entertainment and leisure.
