Supplements to bring in to Melbourne Airport

by wonglaipeng

I will be travelling from Malaysia to Melbourne this May for 2 weeks holidays. Can I bring in my own supplements to Australia such as vitamin C tablets, Ginkgo Bilova tablets, cod liver oil in capsules, multivitamins in capsules and evening primrose oil in capsules for the purpose of my own daily intake only? I have read the rules and regulations on what not to bring in to Australia but it did not say anything on supplements. Just want to be sure about this. Can anyone advise me on this?

G"day there
wellcome to Melbourne
realy its hard to answer your question!!!!!
its all depends on the Quarantine list .
when you come to Melbourne airport you have to declare what you got and then fellow the RED line and then the Customs tell you what you can take and what not.
P.S
a few years ago i bought Clove from Dubai duty free shop,i was able to take it in ,last year bough Clove as well and i wasn't able to bring it in
here please the web site for the Quarantine ,you can email them
enjoy your stay in Melbourne
Cheers

supplements should be no problem to bring into Melbourne, i cant image why they wouldn't be as you can buy them here.

the only reason you couldn't is if they contain an endangered species (ie: something with rino horn) or some stronger drugs (ie: containing large amounts of codeine).

if in doubt just stop off at any chemist or health food store (should be one in every shopping center)they will sell most/all those things.

PS: so long as you declare everything to customs you will never get in trouble.

Travel Tips for Melbourne

the great ocean road

by utttz

drive along the great ocean road till the shipwreck coast.... If you can choose, try to go there on a stormy day!

A lot of people will probably tell you that the great ocean road is really winding, narrow and so on.... well, where I live a road like that is considered a straight one... and quite large! Don't be scared... it's not a wide highway, but the last part of the highway from Milan to Genoa is harder than the G.O.R. there's a million of pics of the 12 apostoles here on VT: I'm so glad someone choose mine for his own page!!!!! :-)

School girls in uniform

by l_joo

School girls in uniform portraying a group of school girls walking towards another direction in uniform, grey color, white football stockings with black shoes, looks cool, discipline and beautiful, I look over and over. Melbourne students are very strong physically if comparing with Malaysian students, mostly weak and energetic-less, it could be weather too hot, distorted nurturing methods plus many other wierd factors.

To start a conversation...

To start a conversation mention the footy. Melbourne people love to talk about the footy (except in summer when its tennis and cricket). Even people who hate the footy love to tell you why they hate it.

ace hi provides very good bush and beach rides. the toure gides are very nice and helpfull and the most important thing: the horses are very good. not that typical tourist horses, no there are in a good condition and you can see that they enjoy what they are doing.
the beach ride takes about 3, the bush ride about 2 houres.

as this is avery big ranch you can stay there over the night as well.

and for kids they have a special bonus: the wildlife park.

It's surprising how many...

It's surprising how many people miss the beautiful coastal swimming and walking area around Cape Shank National Park, near the Mornington Peninsula. My two favourite locations are Bushrangers Bay and Fingal Beach (Melways ref Map 258). Both of these beautiful swimming areas can be reached by a pleasant one hour walk (warning: there are stairs at the base of Fingal Beach which can be gruelling to climb at the end of the day but SO worthwhile!). The best features of these locations are the crystal clear rock pools of varying depths where you can swim with an abundance of colourful fish or bring your spear gun and catch your dinner in the ocean. I can't find photos but trust me, it's well worth it!! A snorkal and face mask are MUSTS at these locations. The surf is also good here, but for better surfing go to Gunnamatta just up the road.
Also, you must not miss the scenic car journey along the Great Ocean Road - going all the way to Port Campbell to see the 12 Apostles (photo below).
