A good innercity Hotel-style B&B with great Bkfst
PHOTO: HOUSES ALONG PARK IN EAST MELBOURNE NEAR OUR B&B (WEST SIDE OF PUNT ST. HOUSES DATE TO EARLY 20TH CENTURY. THE IRON RAILINGS AND GRILL WORK ARE TYPICAL OF EARLY MELBOURNE HOUSES AND OF MANY IN AUSTRALIA.
Georgian Court B&B is a three story B&B with lots of rooms, very nice rooms with very large bathrooms and comfortable beds. This is not the kind of place with one or two guests where you converse with the owners at breakfast (bkfst). However this has a spread at breakfast that is fabulous with hot & cold cereals, fruits, juices, three kinds of breads, jams, yoghurts, toast and plenty of coffee & tea. The office is friendly and helpful and make you feel at home when you arrive.
Unique Quality: On the east side of Melbourne, this is on a secluded street so no noise and is only a coulpe of short blocks from the tram station and within 10 minutes of the Flinders st. station by tram, a straightline easy ride. A daily tram ticket for two cost $5.10 au ($2.50 us). Pick up the tram at Burwood & Auburn. There are also a number of nice pubs on the east side of Auburn along Burwood. We had dinner at one Saturday night (see main article).
