melbourne worse hotel

i took a single room in this hotel in year 2001, it was described has classic and nice.

Arrived from the station, everything went fine, i took a shower, that is not really clean. It was time to sleep, which i had waited long for, after 10 hours of train.

I slept well, half naked in the bed. I sudenlly woke up, feeling weird things biting me. What was my total surprize when i stood up quickly has i can from this bed.

It was FULL of ticks !!! EVERYWHERE !!! Plenty of them !! About 50 BIG FAT FEMALE TICKS sucked my blood.

Ticks ca give you lyme desease which can lead to death !!

All that the clerck said: Oh don't worry that"s nothing, i 'll pay you the pharmacist ( not a Doctor )

I asked for a refund, they refused.

I was SICK AND THEY DONT EVEN PAID THE DOCTOR !!!

Unique Quality: Nothing much, an hostel for youth people would have better quality rooms. and you wont pay 59 $ for crap service people at the counter.

dont go there, it will spoil your journey totally !!! You will get SICK

Funny, I just walked past this Hotel on the weekend and went in there to check it out, since it boasts 'Melbourne's most affordable hotel'. I can tell you it's in an extremely good position: about 2 minutes walk around the corner from Spencer Street train Station. Only a few mins walk more to Flinders St Station, southbank & the Crown casino.
Right next door is a nice French restaurant where we celebrated bastille day...as for the hotel itself, there seem to be 2 standards of accom, depending on what you want to pay. Level 1 $69 dbl or so, next level is about $99. Both are good prices for Melbourne hotels. Most of the other ones I've seen advertised at the moment are offering $199 packages with car parking, breakfast and accom.
The hotel foyer seemed rather busy, could have been a tour group by the look of them, so I'd say it's quite popular. Hope this helps!
