A clean, modern establishment. Includes a well-equipped kitchen, tv rooms, bistro, internet access etc. Staff are friendly and it's reasonably priced.

Unique Quality: The roof top terrace is a great place to unwind and mingle. Includes a BBQ.

Directions: North Melbourne. Close to trams.

    Melbournes Hidden Gem

    by

This place was clean comfortable and very safety concious which is good !!

It had good internet access and a nice loung area and there were always staff on hand to answer questions.

Even though the place was always busy, it never seemed as though you had to wait for the showers, the phone etc, it seems big enough to be able to handle alot of people.

(PS make sure you go up to the rooftop garden for great views of Melbourne)

    Queensberry Hill YHA

    20 AUD per night in a four-share

Unique Quality: although it's a very huge hostel i still has a great atmosphere. Right you don't get into contact with other travellers that easily but if so it's cool.
They charged me 20 AUD a night for a bed ina four-share and they have a fully equipped self-catering kitchen as well as they offer brekfast lunch and dinner for the bad cooks. Pool tables are available, TV-rooms, shared bathrooms and a travel agency that for example offers day-trip to the Mornington Peninsula or the Great Ocean Road...

Directions: North Melbourne about 5 minutes from Victoria Market and actually pretty central.
