Anyone Stay Here Before - Mansfield Holiday Park, Victoria
by wjn
Wish to book at this park in August? Just a little worry about the heater whether it is warm enough in winter as they don't provide electric blanket. Pls advise.

Hi
Considering the fact that the cabins seem to have all mod-cons,I would be very surprised if there were no heaters provided. I suggest that you contact them directly for confirmation.Have a look at the photos on website.

Hi Lynne
Yes, I write to them and they did reply with heater. I just worry the heater do not work properly or not warm enough as this usually quite a common problem faced. Plus electric blanket will not be provided. In the freezing winter it will not a good experience at all.

I think that you should not worry about it. They would not allow the guests to be uncomfortable or cold.

That area would be very cold in winter and I,m sure the heater on at night would keep the cabin warm..However if this is worrying you a lot I would take an electric blanket with you, some of the shops like K-Mart and Big W would have inexpensive ones, if you plan on staying there for several nights it would be worth the cost.

They may have reverse air conditioners---I agree with Lynne and others that it would be unusual for any accommodation that will allow their guests to be cold.
Check with them again and be assertive regarding a reply to your question.

The temperature is unlikely to get any lower than 2C outdoors if there is a frost otherwise 5C would be what I would expect. I would expect they would have heating of some description and likely doonas (duvets) on the beds. I used to have an electric blanket but I haven't bothered to use one in Melbourne in twenty years.

visit the spectacular Great Ocean Road. Driving there is not easy. The road is long and winding (maximum speed allowed = 35 km per hour)! It takes alot of courage and great eyesight to drive along this scenic route. You can see what I mean from the photo below.

These are only some places you can see travelling down the Great Ocean Road. The photo below shows 'The Shipwreck Coast', where the wrecks of over 80 ships lie on the ocean floor. Many ships carrying immigrants to the gold fields of Victoria floundered in the treacherous seas.
God believing custom tip
by l_joo
If you are interested in God believing activities, I suggest you a good church (St Patrick if not mistaken) which myself spent some 2 hours sitting inside (on long bench) listening to the singing and talking by God-believers for the first time in my life, quite enjoying actually, but later it was not that enjoying when some tour operators brought groups of tourists to inside the church with cameras shooting like a zoo with non-stop flashes, they were probably tourists who never in their life heard about church. I snapped more than 50 photos but don't want to bore you, just one as VT-tip.
Packing List

My dad had bad memories about this farm having spent a little time growing up on one and milking cows for me a true blue city boy it was magic .
I recommend The collingwoods children farm for kids my age and older.
The Mansion, Werribee
by parischris
The Mansion has had an interesting life as a private home, monastery and school. It is now open to the public with a new hotel annexe. It is an easy 45 minute drive from Melbourne, and is next to the Werribee open range zoo.
