Pelican feeding by the Murray River
by Kate-Me
One of my fondest memories of Mildura is as a child of about 4 years old, feeding pelicans from the door of the caravan where we were staying, just across the river.
These days, it's still one of my favourite things, seeing the pelicans up so close (they came to within 3 feet of me, but fortunately, unlike black swans at certain lakes, they don't advance menacingly once your bread runs out!)

The humour of the owners of the services are to be foound all over the site - none more so than the beloved 'mileage' posts that are to be found all over Australia, proving just how far you all are from here :)
Murray River

We stayed in a campground east of Mildura on the river bank. An artificial beach has been created by the waterside. Since everyone else did, I also tried a swim in the river and found it very refreshing after a hot day in the car.
In the evening we enjoyed a lovely sunset.
