Considering that Albany is about 100 miles from New York City, no, the subway most certainly does NOT go there. The cheapest way will be Greyhound bus (www.greyhound.com) and the fastest will be Amtrak train (www.amtrak.com). You can find hotels in Albany on Expedia, Travelocity, or any other hotel search site.
Travel Tips for Albany
Pelicans At Rest - Albany Boat Harbour
by Mikebb
Wherever you go you will see Pelicans always tend to linger around boats. I do not think it is because they like people, it is because fisherman always give them fish heads , old bait etc. A good place to hang around for a feed of fresh fish.
Torndirrup National Park
by keeweechic
The national park which covers about 3,868 hectares across the southern section of Princess Royal Harbour and is off Frenchman Bay road – about 13kms from Albany. There are some spectacular coastal views from the park.
Princess Royal Fortress
by imstress
Princess Royal Fortress is located on Mt Adelaide which used to be a Military Institute. It has been refurbished to a visitors centre and tearoom.
You can take your time to stroll around the forts and enjoy the breathtaking view of the King George Sound and the surrounding area.
