An Early Exploration
Midshipman Ransonnet brought his exploration party into the sheltered waters of Two Peoples Bay in 1803. They sailed east to explore the this uncharted area. In the 1840s, up to 12 ships anchored in Two Peoples Bay during the whaling season, to hunt humpback and southern right whales in the bay and surrounding waters.

Dog Rock is located in the city at Middleton Road.
You will find a granite rock which resembles the head of a Labrador dog. Do stop over to take a picture with this famous rock.

Jimmy Newell's Harbour is named after a fishermen who was caught in a storm.
It is a quiet little inlet where Jimmy Newell seek shetler from the sudden storm where he was driven into the harbour where he found protection and safety.
