Camel Rides in Broome

by debbieduck5

What is the cost of the Camel riding in Broome along the beach?

Re: Camel Rides in Broome

by tess11

There are a few operators who work camel rides on cable beach. I have provided links so you can make comparisons. I've been to Brome several times but never actually done the camel ride on the beach so I cant make recommndations sorry.

I hope that provides you with the information you asked for.

Travel Tips for Broome

Packing List

by alisonr

It is around 30 degrees every day during summer, and so you will not need a lot of clothes. Then Mum arrived in Broome (from the coolest state SA) dressed in a skirt, stockings and jumper, she soon immediately noticed how hot it was. Everyone else on the tarmac was dressed in shorts and light clothing! Take plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellant.

Head to Derby

by albaaust

Well, we had to go to Derby as DH had a meeting here. I took the opportunity to see as much as I could in a day. If you have the time and inclination I would suggest only a day. However, you can also organise flights to Horizontal Falls from here as well. Derby is actually in the middle of the Kimberleys so it is quite a convenient place to organise flights.
Please also visit my Derby page to see specific places along the way to Derby and Derby itself..

The trip to Derby is quite interesting. As you drive further north and east the vegetation and colours change from light red and tall grasses to more boabs and deep red.

The mangroves for a beautiful sunrise

by mikegr

Whilst Cable beach is excellent for sunsets, a short walk East from the town will bring you to a large sand dune overlooking some mangroves from where you get an excellent view of the sunrise.

The link to the map on my Broome page should help you find it!

Camel Ride into the Sunset

by Gwynneth

This one hour tour along the beautiful white sands of Cable Beach Broome is sensational. Kala carried my daughter and I and enjoyed eating carrots when they were handed out by the camel handlers.

The sun setting, over the calm waters of the Indian Ocean, was a breathtaking ball of orange in the deep purpley-blue dusk sky of Broome. I'm so glad we made this excursion a top priority... the camel handlers are fun and good looking too! (yes... and they know lots about camels!)

$45 per adult - Max Weight - 120 kgs
$25 per child aged 6 to 16 years
$10 for children 5 years and under*

Did you know the first camel in Australia was imported from the Canary Islands in 1840 by a guy named Horlock? Camels in Australia are scattered through the arid interior of Australia with an estimate of 50% in Western Australia, 25% in Northern Territory, and 25% in western Queensland and northern South Australia. There are over 400,000 camels running wild in Australia.

Fabulous isn't it! :o)

Broome Crocodile Park

by didgeridorien

The crocodiles that are causing trouble are being held here. I was there in the breeding season and got a couple of scares when a female tried to defend here eggs as I walked past the enclosure. There also are a couple of shows. It's only opened from April to October because of the rain season. Guided tours start at 3 pm.
