A great resort with a few downs

First of all, Beaches of Broome made a positive impression on me because it did not feel like a hostel at all when I arrived. It looks more like a posh resort or hotel, as it is very clean, modern and stylish. I had never been to a hostel like this before, and indeed, as there are private rooms as well, it is not a real hostel although it provides dorm accommodation. The outdoor areas and the kitchen are very spacious, and there is a comfortable room where you can use the internet, it is part of the Global Gossip system which I like very much.
On the other hand, the rooms were not very good... I stayed in a four bed dorm and it was way to small and crowded. Even worse, the air condition only works from 08.00pm to 08.00am - this means that during the day you simply cannot stay in the dorms, it is just too hot!

As already said, there are also different kind of private rooms, I don't know if these have a permanent air condition or if it is the same as in the dorms.

Beaches of Broome is located at Cable Beach and I found this very convenient because I spent most of my time on the beach anyway. A bus stop is close, so you can go to town by public bus if you don't have a car. Apart from the bad quality of the dorms, I enjoyed my stay here very much.

Unique Quality: * Great location
* Although there are dorms for a good price, it is rather a resort and there are private rooms as well
* A big and modern kitchen
* Good internet facilities

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average
