Go for the Views but not the Camping

This 'resort' is strategically placed, with some great beaches, walks, and postcard perfect shots of the red cliffs at sunset. If you are there to commune with nature, however, make it a day trip (a small visitor fee applies), or spring for the raised safari tents/beach huts.

All manner of accommodations are available, from safari tents ($250/night), cabins ($165) to huts on the beach ($60) to a rectangle dirt patch under a tree $16/person). Beware that the campgrounds are very crowded, it felt like we were in a hotel with thin walls rather than 3 hours from the nearest town. As this resort is frequently booked, you will probably be there with 300 other people in a relatively small space.

If you would like more peace and quiet, I would recommend the beach huts or raised safari tents which are on the outskirts so you won't be walled in with campervans/tents monopolizing your breeze. As those were already booked and we had all our own gear, we cut our trip short and headed to Middle Lagoon (1 hour south) where you can actually see the stars.

Unique Quality: Air Scenic Tours ($200)
Restaurant/Shop (coffee $6)
Hot Showers
Laundry Facilities
Cooking Facilities

Powered and Unpowered Camp Sites
Fully stocked Cabins & Safari Tents
Beach Huts
Beach Driving (air down to 18psi)
Boat Launch/Fishing
