Ningaloo Reef Resort: Just Go !
What is wonderful about this resort, is the beautiful bay and the spectacular stunning coral reef, which lies directly across the road. The resort itself is very basic but is extremely comfortable offering many tours and water activities. One could never get bored here; this area is unique and offers superb experiences for travellers of all ages.
Our room B12, we thought to be ideally positioned on the second level with direct views of the water and reef. We also had the added advantage of being at the end of the building away from the bar area. The room was comfortable with a separate bedroom and lounge room with a small kitchenette attached. Doors lead out to the spacious balcony.
The resort has a swimming pool, ATM machine, small supermarket, restaurant, and a fabulous small hotel, which had VB beer on tap, and even had our favourite New Zealand sauvignon Blanc wine on offer. The food from the café is terrific, hubby really enjoyed his steak. The only gripe we had was the restaurant was supposed to be fully booked, but through out the night, we noticed only six tables were in use.
Coral Bay is approx 1.5hrs drive from the airport with absolutely nothing in between, so make sure you pick up water and any necessary items before leaving the airport or Exmouth. Cars can be hired from the airport, Budget and Avis but not Thrifty. If arriving by air, then the flight from Perth via Monkey Mia is amazing, as the scenery is spectacular and the colours of the reef against the red stunning landscape is awesome.
We also visited Exmouth and found Coral Bay to be far more interesting place to be positioned. If thinking of visiting this region you will not be disappointed. It’s a real little gem hidden in a huge country.
Everything can be hired from the resort such as snorkels, flippers, boogie boards, open glass boats, kayaks, and basically everything you want or need regarding water activities. All types of reef tours are also available. The beach is gorgeous with colourful hues of blues which sparkle like magic against the landscape. The sunsets are just as enchanting and captivating.
I hope Coral Bay remains free and beautiful
If one is looking for a pristine location with limited crowds or tourists one cannot go pass this amazing and spectacular region in Australia.

Pete's YHA Backpackers: Simple and easy Backpackers
We stayed here not in the multiple dorms, but in a sort of Container with 2 Double beds and a kitchen.
No shower or toilet in the room, but the facilites were clean.
Friendly people all over and free bikes so you can go into the town of Exmouth itself.
Sounds great, but if you are late (as we are) you have to take what is left, in this case bikes that were several numbers too small. Well, they worked.
The other way to get into Exmouth itself is by bus that shuffles between the airport and the village.
For 2 persons we paid in 2001 84 AUS for 2 nights.
A 10 dollar key deposit you get back.
