FIG TREE CROSSING: NEAR FREE CAMP NEAR GERALDTON
FREE CAMPING IS NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE IN GERALDTON
When heading back from Kalbarri to Geraldton, we decided to take the Chapman Valley tourist drive back to Geraldton. At approx. 12kms from Geraldton, we came across Fig tree crossing camping and day area. There were already a few campers there so we joined them.
There is plenty of space, so no need to camp on top of each other. The location has free Toilets, Dump point, Picnic shelters, free bbq and plenty of shade. Dogs are allowed.
Even though we were near the road, it isn't a busy one so we had a good quiet night. This was a pretty area to stay and one I would quite happily stay at again.
There is an honesty box with envelopes where we put our fee.
Pensioners are $6 per person
Adults $7 per person
Children under 16 FREE
Vehicles are restricted to 24 hour stay.
Please contact the Shire office (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm) on 9920 5011 for further details.

BELAIR GARDENS CARAVAN PARK: GOOD POSITION - GOOD PARK
The Belair Gardens Caravan Park was located a short drive from the city centre to near the Lighthouse on Moore Point Peninsula. I like Parks like this as they are close to the action, but usually in a quiet area where we can get a good nights sleep, which we did
We arrived here before booking in time, no worries, they had vacant sites, so we were given one of those and allowed in. The park charged a $20 deposit for the Amenities key which when leaving we handed back in and received back the $20.
The park caters for Caravanners/Motorhomes/Campervans, Tents, and it has Cabins.
We were given our site number and a map that was marked with directions. Off we went, following the sealed road to our site at the back of the park. We had a hedge on one side, a full cement slab big enough for our car and caravan awning and lawn surrounding that. There was water and sullage points, rubbish bins close by and a short walk to the Amenities block.
The Amenities block was lovely and clean, had good hot showers, very clean laundry with washers and dryers and plenty of outside wash lines.
There are two Amenities blocks, so if one is closed for cleaning you can walk to the other.
If you have no desire to use the Amenities block, then you can book your own powered en-suite site and have your own private bathroom.
We found the Campers kitchen to be very popular, I guess this was because the Caravan park was nearly full every night we stayed there.
Children are well catered for at the park. There is a swimming pool for everybody, Jumping pillow, Tennis court, Table tennis and beach across the road.
At the Office are public telephones and several bookcases full of books. These can be bought for $2 each or you can swap one for one. We love parks that have this, especially when we can't get TV and spend our time reading. There is a shop which sells necessities and even fresh produce at very cheap prices. I bought some freshly picked tomatoes at a bargain price!
Staff were friendly and helpful even though they were very busy with clients and phone-calls.
NO CARAVAN - NO PROBLEM.
You may wish to stay at one of their units instead of a Motel, please check out this link for more info
This caravan park belongs to the Top Tourist Club of which we are a member, you can be too if your travelling a lot. Through being a member we had $10.20 taken off the total of our bill.

Best Bed & Breaky in town
"Wanted - Guests with a sense of humour"
Well, that's what they add said .... and I was immediately sucked in :o)
So we stayed and Greengables Bed & Breaky and totally enjoyed it there. Our guests, Chris and Henry were very hospitable and just like the add read "...you may arrive as strangers, but will leave us as friends".
