If you plan to stay for the night at Wave Rock then I strongly suggest that you stay either here in one of the Cabins at the Lakeside Resort or at the caravan park right near Wave Rock. If you stay at Wave Rock Motel then that is a 5 minute drive into Hyden and not near Wave Rock. Wave Rock Motel however does have something going for it. More about that in my restaurant tip.
We booked a cabin beside the lake and are glad that we did. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. If you choose to say here you will need to book and pay a deposit via the link below. Don't just think you can roll up and expect a vacancy as these cabins get booked out quickly.
The Wave Rock Resort is situated outside Hyden in the Wave Rock area.
It is fairly new and not completed yet. If it is wet there is a fair amount of water around and quite a quantity of red mud.
The cabins/accomodation/cottages are well appointed, clean, spacious, and comftable.
would recomend this place, but preferably not during rain..
Wave Rock Lakeside Resort has been developed to cater for the visitor who would like to get away from it all in a home away from home.
It is one kilometre north of Wave Rock. There are fourteen two bedroom cottages situated on the shores of Lake Magic.
We enjoyed our short one night stay here. We cooked some spagetti with fried bacon and the salami was excellent.
The resort has a big kitchen with fully stock utensils and kitchen wares. The is a toaster and microwave oven where we cook our breakfast. There were indoors and out door dinning areas. We choose to eat indoor as it is much cosy and kept us from the cold.
The TV was the entertainment that we have got after dark.

The wheatbelt nights here are as close to perfectly dark and clear as you can find anywhere. So if star gazing is your pleasure then this is the place to be.
I met a guest from Germany who came here specifically to observe the night sky with his very expensive looking telescope connected to satellite navigation via his laptop.
