Kruise to the Kimberlys
"Wildflowers as you trek/hike"
Australia is a botanist's haven. Every state you go, every national park u step into, there is the surprise of yet another flower, plant or bush/tree.
"Clear Rock pools in El Questro"
El Questro is a resort area where Australians take their holidays to in the winter - those who can make their way up there, that is. It's not exactly easy to get to, unless you want to spend lots of money to fly up there (Domestic flights within Aust are not cheap!).
Anyway once you're in the Top End, you'll keep hearign the name of El Questro.
So we went there.
Lovely place, totally secluded from the rest of the tourist trail... but you need heavy duty 4WD to get in there.
Such rock pools are a delight and norm to stumble across as you wlak the hour long wlak to the heavenly waterfall at the end.
"Lazy Croc sighting"
By Windjana Gorge, near the Hamersley Range.
There is a wonderful campsite near this Gorge, where campervans, and other sturdy vehicles storm their way to. Find your shady spot (it gets hot in the Top End) and plonk your tent up, that seemed to be the aussie way.
These crocs are freshwater ones, so nothing to worry abt - they are apparently not interested in humans (!) Err, Ok-ay.
