Travel Tips for Margaret River
Dunsborough
Busselton and Dunsborough lie on the shores of Geographe Bay which is protected from most of the prevailing winds that hit the coastline. There is more than 30kms of white sandy beaches which is bordered by natural bush and forests.
A great area for fishing, water sports, diving and snorkelling and swimming. If you go around this region be sure to check out Simmo's Ice Creamery & Fun Park. Buy an ice cream for free entry and really, that is just about the only reason you would go there unless you had little ones, that ice cream is to die for. You will see flavours here you never imagined and feel like you had died and gone to heaven. Worth the detour (Commonage Road, Dunsborough).
Good food, poor service
Ze Arc de Iris is one of the most consistently recommended places to eat in Margaret River. I found the food OK, but the service was not great. The place was very busy the night we went, and the staff was flat out. Upon further inquiry, a couple of people had called in sick so they weren't normally that understaffed. To top it off, the waitress we had was new to the job. But they were at least friendly, so it wasn't that bad in the end.
More Wine tasting
Evans and Tate one of the bigger winerys in the area. They have a huge visitors centre which you can buy wine and more wine and more wine and things to do with wine, like wine openers, and the like.
Although l thought personally this was too commercial for me but l did like the wine.
The Visitors' Centre is open 7 days a week from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm (Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day).
Lake Cave
There are a lot of steps and the air is quite dense while travelling both up and down to the Cave, so I wouldn't recommend it if you are elderly, unwell or asthmatic or have small children.

Tickets are valid for seven days.
Visit Mammoth, Lake and Jewel Caves and save up to $7 per ticket.

9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm. Bookings not required.
