The Honeymoon is over...or is it?

by arianne_1504

Mead has long been associated with revelry and romance, and was consumed on special occasions such as weddings and honeymoons. The term honeymoon got its name from the drinking of honey wine for a full cycle of the moon after the wedding.

Wines at Blackwood Meadery are made with honey, not grapes.

Wine styles include:-

Honey Mead Wine 2003 & 2002 (Dry medium and sweet]
Traditional Honey Mead Liqueur 2002 & 2003
Fruit Liqueur: Boysenberry - MUST TRY

Opening Hours are 7 Days 10.00am to 4.30pm

Cape Lavender

by arianne_1504

I know everyone craps on about the fantastic wineries in the South West of Australia, but if you're a lover of something a little different with a sweet twist, then you really should visit Cape Lavender. From Sparkling Wine to Lavender Beer to Lavender Ice (the lavender version of coconut ice) to all sorts of Lavender Gifts, it really is a must for your visit. Open from 10am to 5pm, 7 days a week. I go there everytime I'm in town.

UPDATE: Cape Lavender now have a small shop in the Town Square of Margaret River, just off Bussell Highway.

Rotary Park and "Kate"

by sirgaw

Where is the best place to eat and enjoy great scenery - Rotary Park and the opportunity to get up close and personal with Kate. Now I should say that Kate is far from being a frisky young thing who used to get all steamed up towards guys, after all she was born in 1889. She is still as pretty as the day she was born, but sadly just sits there looking pretty - and she's got some friends too. Click onto the photos and get to see Kate in her birthday suit.

Rotary Park has a number of free to use electric BBQ's, so head to the local supermarket and stock up with steak, sausages and whatever else you want and cook them all up for free - don't forget to buy a bottle of local wine to wash it all down. Space for the kids to wander and explore the river banks of the Margaret River and maybe even toss a few left overs from the BBQ to the ducks and other water birds who know the best spots in town. Plenty of shade in the summer months with picnic tables under shelter, there's also playground equipment for the kids. To cap it all off, free parking.

Entrance to Rotary Park is just before the road bridge over Margaret River - enjoy.
