The most comfortable part were the bunks....nothing wrong with them at all.
We had a triple room (double bed for the couple with single bunk above)
Other than that, I found the amenities a bit lacking, as the kitchen was very old and chairs very uncomfortable...all just seemed rather tired and worn. Cooking facilities were adequate.
Backpackers was in 2 different buildings, with about 30 metres separating the 2. Held quite a lot of people (about 70 all told I think) but our side of the building only had 2 toilets and showers... in quite poor condition.
It was a cold night and I don't think there was any heating, so we slept in our clothes (wouldn't recommend it in winter, at all!) No common room that I could see, just the kitchen, at least in our half of the house.
Unique Quality: for $60 for the 3 of us, price wise it wasn't a bad deal, and apart from being cold, we were fairly comfortable. No other budget accom in town that we could see, unless the pub had rooms.
Directions: at the bottom of the rise of the main street. Easy to find as there aren't too many buildings in the main street..
