    What makes Abbey Beach so great is that it is a hotel and a resort, so really you are getting the best of both worlds. It is one of a few 5 start accomadation in the south west and does not cost nearly as much as 5 star accom in Perth city. We stayed in a studio on the second floor with views of the pool. The studio was semi hotel room/appartment, it had a kitchenette, bathroom, t.v with in house movies, stereo, balcony with table and chairs, spa and seperate shower. Our package was for 2 nights which only cost 272.00 and there was a late checkout of 5pm.

    Out of every where that i have stayed this would have to have been one of the best resorts in the south west. Abbey beach resort is absolutely huge and is on the beach. There is a choice of hotel rooms, studios for 2, 1 & 2 bedroom & 3 bedroom appartments. There is a lake in the resort. The beach is beautiful and some appartments have views of the ocean. There are two out door pools and 1 warm indoor pool and spa (which is open to 10pm and is great if it is fairly chilly outside at night) There are tennis courts, bike hire, a gym, squash court and much more. The staff are extremely friendly. The beach is absoloutely beautiful, is was so calm and there was no sea breeze.

    I recommend the Abbey Beach Resort just outside of Busselton in the Margaret River wine region. It is a 4.5 star resort, and is luxury through and through. I have lived in Perth for 14 years and I have stayed there many times and it is my favourite place to stay. It is relatively cheap too considering how luxurious it is. It has a 25 metre indoor heated pool, two outdoor swimming pools surrounded by lovely gardens and shaded with gazebos. I took some photos of these features (see photos). Very nice. The only downside is that the furnishings in the rooms are a little outdated, but that is probably the worst thing there, and its not a big deal in my books. From experience iv found that www.discoverwest.com has the cheapest rate for them, its like AUS$140ish per night for a studio spa room which is pretty decent. The larger apartments there are also pretty fancy.

    Pool, spas, the view. The whole resort is basically 5 star at about a 4 star price. Very under-rated.
