transportation

How does one get from the Perth airport to Fremantle Port for a Princess cruise line?
Thank you for all suggestions.

Re: transportation

by IndianPacific

There is a similar question some time after yours. Don't know anything about Perth airport, but the commuter trains between Perth and Fremantle go straight down to the port in Fremantle (you'll see your ship from the train).

Re: transportation

There are shuttles from Perth Airport to Fremantle. just look at the airport site for links.

Travel Tips for Perth

Photo Tip: The Magical Reflection

by Kathrin_E

At a certain time in the later afternoon, the light of the already low sun is reflected by the glass facades of Central Park tower and other skyscrapers in a way that is, well, almost magic. I have been lucky to catch it twice, both times on board an incoming Swan River ferry.

Watch out if you return from Fremantle on an afternoon ferry. The light effect can be seen and caught for a moment shortly before arriving at Barrack Street jetty.

Things to do in Perth

by aussirose

Visit Kings Park
Go by ferry to Freo
Jump on a free cat bus
Take a day trip to Rotto
Get a day train/bus pass and go
to Hillaries Boat Harbour
or Mandurah
Watch a sunset on a northern beach. Outside of Perth -
The Pinnacles.
Yanchep National Park.
Guilderton.
Twilight Beach, Esperance.
Wave Rock, Hyden.
Cape Le Grand National Park.
And sticking one foot in the Indian ocean and one foot in the Southern Ocean at Augusta.
Monkey Mia, Pinnicals & Broome.

Ps. Often wondered why WA is full of 'Up' towns? There's Manjumup, Coolbellup, Joondalup, Myalup, Yunderup, Yallingup, Wattleup, Boyanup, Quindalup.
I could go on forever. Perhaps they wish they were 'up' ...... in Qld? Haha ...lol.

Free!! Free!! Freebees!! Yea!!!

by aussirose

I found this site that has lots of freebees when you book through them. They also have lots of travel and accommodation specials. The freebees you get are a book of vouchers with great restaurant and attraction specials, free airport transfers, free Perth welcome tour, free National Parks Pass, free day tour guide and lots more. I would seriously give this site a view before booking your Western Oz holiday!!

Iron Ore train

by DreamerDan

The pic is of a iron ore train hauling out of Mt Newman mine to Port Hedland in the far north west of Western Australia. It takes 4 locos to pull the 280 wagons each loaded with 100 tonnes or iron ore.If a coin is placed on the track it ends up as thin as a piece of rice paper once the train has passed. Also the weight is so great that the top 3 thousands of an inch of the rail turns molten from the pressure..each year 6000 tonnes of rail is replaced once its deemed too far gone to be reground into shape by the track grinder loco.

Barbie!

by bryINpoland

I had my first Barbie today. A.K.A. BBQ. Nadine made a breakfast for us on the grill. We had eggs, Middle Rashers (bacon), and tomatos.

To me the bacon was the most different thing. They came in long strips that measured probably about 14 inches by 2 inches. Once cooked they shrunk down to about 10 inches. They were cooked real fattie, just like i like them, and real juicy.

I really look forward to what my next Barbie might bring...
