Backpackers Perth by aussirose If you are young and want to be where the action is, then the Aberdeen Lodge is in the right spot! It's located 2 streets behind the restaurant & nightclub alley of Perth - James Street and is next door and opposite to the best 2 nightclub venues in town - The Shed and The Deen. The place looks nice from the outside with a tropical garden look but I hear that it is not so clean on the inside. However if you are young and love to party, then for a bargain price and location as well as a good place to meet people from all around the world, I would look no further than the Aberdeen Lodge. You couldn't get anything this cheap in a better spot in Perth.

Part of the Burswood Swimming Pool by Xemx The Burswood hotel is a one-stop place for luxury accomodation and entertainment. It has its own casino, theatres, bars and restaurants. During the year Burswood offers special accommodation packages to concert ticket holders. I took this opportunity and booked tickets online for the Sarah Brightman concert and got a special package for one night's accommodation in a luxurious River Suite overlooking the Swan River, complete with bed and breakfast. This only cost AUD 220.00. Staying at the Burswood was one of the highlights of my trip.
The Suite had a large marble bathroom with a large bath, separate shower, bedroom with two king-sized beds, mini bar and lounge area. It also had tea/coffee/toast facilities, hairdryer, security safe, colour television, in-house movies, AM/FM radio and high speed data connection for internet access. The view of the Swan River was beautiful. The hotel also has a magnificent pool and a lovely garden which could both be seen from the room.

Holiday Inn, Burswood, good rooms, great location by Mikebb This new hotel opened on 1st August and we were lucky to stay there Saturday night. Conviently located next to the Burswood International Resort Casino, and only 3 km from the city centre this is a fabulous mid rate hotel operated by Intercontinental Hotels group. which also operates the casino hotel. Your room card enables you to dine at the Casino with charge back facility to Holiday Inn. The hotel had only been trading for 12 days when we arrived and there was a check in delay of 15 minutes. This was teething problems compounded by the low cost opening special and the Leo Sayer Concert being held that evening at the adjoining Burswood Theatre. We had an opening special price of Aust $99 , including hot buffet breakfast given to as as frequent guests of the Burswood international Resort Casino. Current opening special $138 incldes breakfast and is available for several months. The Holiday Inn only has one restaurant, so we chose to take a 3 minute walk and dine at the Victoria Station restaurant in the casino. This restaurant is a regular Gold Plate award winner. Following dinner we spent a short time in the huge main gambling hall observing the action. This is a non smoking venue. We had problems with airconditioning, it would not go below 22C and the bed had a heavy duna combined within the sheet. We were overwarm even after turning of airconditioning
There is a nice pool area with a distant view of the parkland/ golf course. Some good pool seating, however it is winter and no one used this facility. There is a indoor health centre which overlooks the pool area. It contains a variety of walking, running and cycling machines, all upmarket gear, there must be a dozen or so machines. Our room had a great view of the casino hotel, and at night it was an exciting sight, cars everywhere and lights ablaze. by bijo69 The YHA in Perth is a rather big ans soul-less place to stay. It's more or less clean and all the rooms have aircon. Unfortunately you've got the rail tracks right behind the building, so bring earplugs! There are very comfortable lounges on each floor and a big kitchen on the 1st floor. You also find quite a few computers on the 1st floor should you miss your dose of VT. If you're too lazy to cook, there's a café in the building which is open for breakfast & lunch.

Our room by Purpleshade We have stayed here twice and very much enjoyed it both times. The rooms are pleasantly decorated, fairly large, with comfortable queen size beds, air-con, large en-suite with bath as well as shower. Lots of extras were provided, toiletries, toweling robes to walk to the pool, internet access, foxtel TV, mini-bar, tea making facilities, hair dryer, iron, safe, choice of pillows. Room sevice available. Staff are prompt, friendly and efficient, everything was very clean and aesthetically pleasing, lots of mirrors. Our room, (on the top floor) had a view north over the city. Rooms on the front look over the street to sky-scrapers opposite. Price $160au per night per double room. $11.50au per night valet parking (secure basement carpark)
Heated swimming pool in the basement. made to look like a Roman baths with mirrored walls so it looks enormous. Excellent resaurant. For $15au extra we had the full buffet breakfast, as much as you want, very high quality food including:- fresh sliced tropical fruits, peach compote, birchler meusli, yoghurt, breakfast cereals, many different types of breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, muffins toast and preserves. On the hot stand, American style bacon, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, big fat chicken and herb sausage, and an 'egg chef' to cook eggs as you like them. There were many different types of teas and coffees (Including cappuchino) and a juicer for mixing your own blends. At the front of the hotel is a licensed coffee shop/snack bar, with tables on the pavement, popular with the office workers from the skyscapers at lunchtime. On the opposite side of the street there are several other small cafes including a Shushi Bar and a Jesters Pie shop. Old Firestation Backpackers by bryINpoland A unique Hostel located in the heart of Fremantle, just two minutes walk from the bus and train station. The building the hostel is in, was once the Fremantle firestation, which is one of its Unique Qualities. They still have the red fire doors, and Fire pole to prove it. Like most hostels, the staff are all backpackers themselves, and are eager to answer any questions you may have about things to do, or give out friendly advice about finding work. The hostel seems to love to show movies and eat pizza. If i had it my way, it would be pizza night, every night. Thats why i dont own a hostel..yet. They also love to knock back a few beers, light up the BBQ, and open up the dance floor. Room prices are decent. Startng from 17 dollars for a 8 bed dormshare, and just 2 dollars more for a 4 bed dormshare. There are also private rooms available for 45 dollars a night, with tv, video, and fridge included. Not bad for a hostel. In conclusion, a great unique place to stay, with plenty of daily activities, food, and a great staff. For more on the hostel, visit the following link to their website.
