Easy going five star hotel

A friendly hotel with perfect service, pretty rooms, convenient location. Worth its price.

Huge, excellent breakfast buffet (though 3 years ago it was even better than this time!).

Free swimming pool and fitness rooms.

Free use of washing machines and dryers.

Unique Quality: I'm enclined to call the Duxton the most easy going and pleasant 5-star hotel I've ever been in. Service is perfect for everyone, no matter what you wear and how upscale or downscale you look.

Great Location.

We stayed in the Duxton Hotel for a conference. Its a short walk up the hill to the city mall for shops, cafes, restaurants and banks. The hotel foyer and entrance is pretty impressive with a lovely modern bar area to relax in with a few vinos. Rooms are the average hotel size with the usual modern facilities.

CONS: Close to shops, cafes and restaurants. Modern hotel with normal services. Good bar and swimming pool and spa.

PROS: Thin paper walls, unfriendly staff, pool in shade not good for sunbaking.

Great Food

Breakfasts were wonderful with lovely fresh fruit and the best! Dinner very good too. Rooms should have thermostats in showers. Lower floors have no views (our room) but Club rooms would be OK. Staff very helpful.

Unique Quality: Near to shops and business area

4 stars at the edge of the CBD

Stayed there for a week. Mostly business people. 4 stars are correct. 5 - 10 minutes to the CBD and to Barrack Square Jetty, where the boats and the ferry leave.

Can recommend this hotel.

The Duxton Hotel

The Duxton Hotel is in a central location close to the business district and the heart of the shopping area. It has 306 rooms in total, a lot with wonderful views of the Swan River or the city itself. There are data lines available for internet access and all rooms have the usual amenities including personal mini-bar and coffee-making facilities. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant called The Grill. There is also a Club Lounge for business travellers. The gymnasium has the latest exercise machines as well as a wet and dry sauna. There is also an outdoor heated pool and spa set in a private courtyard.

Absolutely Beautiful

I have stayed here three times over the last 18 months for special occasions and weddings and I have never found fault with anything. The first time we stayed in a standard room with a view and the room was beautiful as was the bathroom. They were both spotlessly clean and the mini bar was well stocked (though expensive). The other times we stayed in a club room, which was nothing short of spectacular, exactly as it appears on the website. The service at the hotel was wonderful, as I look quite young I often don't get the same service that older people do, but this hotel did not treat me any differently. There is a beautiful pool (though I have only been in winter) and if you stay in a club room (which we did) you get free drinks and canapes for two hours every night in the club lounge. There is also a free continental breakfast in the morning in the club lounge.
We ate at the restaurant and though not the nicest place we have eaten at (not the worst either), the portions are huge and the food is decent.

Unique Quality: The view from the river view rooms is beautiful as it is from the Club Lounge. Private lifts for club lounge guests is rather nice and the location is great too. Walking distance to just about everything.

Luxury City Hotel

We live in Perth, and this is my favourite hotel! We often go to the Duxton for special occasions. It is one of the newest and best hotels in Perth, and the rooms are great! It's right in the city, so a quick walk to the mall, and not even much of a walk to Kings Park!

Quality comes at a price unless you get a special

There is no doubt the Duxton is one of Perths top quality hotels.

IT is located right in the centre of town. 2 blocks from the Hays Street Mall. Next door to the Concert Hall.

Stay was short. So we didn't experience everything. The Staff were very helpful when we asked for assistance on a possible day tour.

Unique Quality: The room we received had 2 double beds. A sign of a quality hotel. (ie not single beds in a twin room).

The Bathroom was huge. Separate bath from the shower. Very Impressive.

Room Service although we didn't try seemed fairly wide in selection but slightly pricey. I wouldn't touch the mini bar either for the prices quoted.

Perth Hotels

Here in Perth we have some great hotels. A favourite of ours is the Duxton for that special occaison. Check the internet for special deals.

Unique Quality: The Club Rooms a little on the expensive side but for one night they are fantastic. A huge room with 2 queen beds, tv, cd player wonderful bathroom just beautifu. There is a seperate elvator to reach the club rooms they also have "happy hours" in the private club loung where they serve finger food and drinks for 2 hours. We hardly needed to go out to dinner after that. In the morning there is continental breakfast also served in theclub lounge.
