  • Had an awesome time in Perth!

Easy Perth was the cheapest place I found in Northbridge. It turned out to be great fun. The rooms are a little small but I didn't spend much time in the rooms anyway! the outdoor area at the back was great for parties and the group usually got together and went out to the clubs.

Unique Quality: One of the best things is that they allow you to bring in your own alcohol, and even your friends can visit as guests if you ask the reception nicely!

Directions: Main cultural district, North Bridge Perth

Fremantle Activities

by andycheong

Hi, any recommendation of stuff to do at Fremantle?

Heard the coffee there are fantastic?

And there's a chocolate factory there? Anyone been there? is it good and reasonable? Not sure how's it compared to that in Margaret River?

Many thanks

Get there via the train from the city. You could also take a boat from the City to Fremantle for a more scenic approach.

Fremantle itself is quite interesting and easy to explore, its a suburb/centre 20 - 30 mins south of Perth. There is the main built up area where lots of cafes restaurants and markets going on, real hippy area.

The Fremantle Prison is great.

A 5/10 min walk from the centre on the river, is a good place to go. Little Creatures Brewary right on the water is great for a beer! Brewed o site. Also near this is classic fish and chips on waters edge. Down that way is also a really good Maritime museum.

Margaret River is a region 3-4 hours south of Perth. Famous for wineries, beaches and great country side. Worth a visit if you have time. May I recommend staying in Yellingyup if you can afford it or Eagle Bay :) Dunsborough or the town of Margaret river otherwise...

Btw, is it feasible to take a train to Margaret River, if any?

At Fremantle, what is the best time or day to go?

thanks !

No train to Margaret River, drive or bus.

Please bear in mind it is a rural area, so not very built up.

You almost definitely need a car there.

Fremantle, mainly busy on the weekends, but during the week still activity. Busiest on weekend nights, but once again a bit activity nights during the week.

The Swan Bells

The Swan Bells are in Barrack Square. There are 18 bells in the bell tower... It's an interesting building and worth checking out. The tower is 8.25 metres high making it one of the world's largest musical instruments.

Open 10 am to 5 pm daily (except Christmas Day and Good Friday)

Check out the sites and sounds of Perth City, including Hay St. Mall, London Court, Perth Mint. There are frequently very entertaining street performers in Murray St.
Kings's Park gives spectacular views of the City and Swan River not to be missed. Cruising on the Swan River.

Bibra Lake

by keeweechic

Some of my favourite moments were spent at a lake near my home (Bibra Lake) just sitting watching the pelicans sail on by and feeding the over enthusiastic black swans. Perth has many such lakes scattered around. The Swan River also meanders all through Perth and the black swans can be easily seen in many places.

by ankx

Forks are didjes with two hollow branches going into one trunk. If the junction is in the lower half of the didj, it can usually be played by two people at the same time. All Forks allow a single player to switch between two keys while blowing into one mouthpiece. This is achieved by opening or closing the other mouthpiece of the fork with your hand while playing.
