a low-key place for stay

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 9, 2008

it was nice stay at governor robinsons. approximately 10 minutes walking from this hostel [located at northbridge area] to city centre and perth train station. i was stay in female dorm. no need to worry about midnight arrival since phil --the owner-- will put your key in the envelope including room's and bunk bed's numbers at the table.

Unique Quality: fresh linen with bed cover and soft pillow. a spotlessly clean room and wooden floor.

Directions: from william street heading to the southern part of perth to direction northbridge, it's about 5 minutes walk from western australia museum

Very special budget accomodation

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

Looks more like a mansion house than a hostel, but at budget prices.

We stayed in a double room which was better than most hotels double the price in terms of size, comfy bed and the facilities in the place.

60 Aus dollar for double room

Only minor gripes are its a little chilly in winter in communal areas and would have liked a reading lamp in room.

Unique Quality: All the facilites you would expect of a hostel but very clean, loads of character and friendly staff.

Good location

Cleanest hostel in Perth

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 3, 2005

By far the best hostel I stayed in in Australia, its cheap (Au$20 per night), very well set out with a big clean kitchen and equipment to use, the rooms are quite spacious and there is also the option of having a single or double room, if sharing isn't your thing.
Situated approx 10 mins on foot from Perth train station and city centre and only 5 minutes from the main restaurant area of the central city, the hostel is ideal for people who would like to use Perth as their base for day trips out to other areas.
This isn't a party hostel, its just a decent place to stay, which if you've been travelling for a while, is just whats needed.....

Unique Quality: Built in an old house, very homely feeling.
Close to city centre.
In outskirts of Chinese sector of Perth.

Directions: Exit the metro stn on the side away from the city centre and go up the main road past the Brass Monkey pub (on the left), stay on that road until you see Robinson Avenue on the right , walk up it and Robinsons is on the right at the far end of the road.
